The Innocence of my Childhood

it's funny how when we are young we so want to grow up as quickly as possible, yet as soon as we are grown we suddenly want to grow back down again

The Innocence of My Childhood
As I look at how I’ve grown
I marvel at how time has flown
But if I could I think I would
Go back to the innocence of my childhood

How I wish I could but relive
Those young years that have now passed
How I wish I could but lift
The magic spell that Time has cast

I would chase after butterflies again
And old friends would knock at my door
And I would greet them as I once did
And we would play together once more

In spring we’d watch the growing flowers
We’d feel the soft summer wind blow
We would chase the leaves in autumn
In winter we would play with snow

We would once more share secrets
Whisper to each other as we used to
We would talk about when we’d grow
And of the things we want to do

But time has gone, and I have grown
And like the wind that blows so wild
My younger years passed, and before I knew
No longer was I a child

Now in school I enter my senior year
And adult life is drawing near
But if I only could, I think I would
Go back to the innocence of my childhood

The Rescue

A very very very long poem I wrote :)

The Rescue
In a castle filled with gloom
In tallest tower, in highest room
Surrounded by wall a four
Grey in color, nothing more
A door doth stand, made of wood
Under key and locked for good
But if way inside you find
Simple room will be confined
Upon the floor a braided rug
And a table with a jug
By the table chair doth stad
Upon chair lies a woven band
In the corner stand cot for bed
With a window overhead
Upon the window drapes to flow
That with the wind oft' flow
Upon the bed Fair Maiden lies
With nutbrown hair and hazel eyes
By day she will lie and sleep
By night she doth sit and weave
Looking out of window and gazing at the moon
For moment doth forget her woe and gloom
For moom in lovles silver white
Shineth on her silver light
And in the distance star doth see
Small as speck of dust can be
But in it shines the hope and faith
To fill her for another day
And every other single night
A new star will catch her sight
For star, though nothing more than dust
With its light represents her trust
That soon the night of bondage will be done
And day of freedom will rise with sun

In the distance uner heat and sun
Hooves of horse, they gallop and run
Kicking up the dust and sand
Over hot and beaten land
Yonder mountain filled with snow
There fierce winds will often blow
Ice on path not seen at all
Until you slip and to death fall
After moutain swamp marsh
Conditions cruel and ver harsh
Pathway you must try and seek
If death you do not want to meet
Men in pride who often step
Do not take this path of death
This long and death-defying road
If made for men of faith and hope
Upon horse which doth runs
Rides his father's only son
Forsaken comforts of his home
To this road of fear and woe
After Maiden Fair he seeks
Who was locked by Evil Beast
In a tower filled with gloom
There to sit and wait her doom
Beast of tower does demand
In marriage her young heart and hand
And if in fortnight vow she will not take
She will not see the sun or wake
So on rides Knight through land of woe
Where the bravest dare not go
He fears neither snow nor dust
In love's power he does trust
Go fast he must to make it in time
So on through sand and snow her rides

As sun sets and creeps the night
Fearful castle comes to sight
Dark in shadowns it doth stand
Putting fear in bravest man
Towers to the sky they loom
Filled with fear and woe and doom
Wall of stone goes all around
So no way inside is found
Walls they are thick and high
So over them you may not climb
Gate of black the entrance seals
So that stranger unwelcome feels
But if by all this you are scared not
You will find the gate unlocked
Pathway leads from the gate
To what is yoru certain fate
Huge gigantic oaken door
Guards the castle's inner ward
For therein Evil Beast confines
And therein Maiden Fair he hides
Evil Beast stands big and large
With hateful eyes and long sharp claws
He abides in castle dark and cold
Of it strange stories are often told
And to this castle Knight must come
Before this dark night is done
For if in times he makes it not
A great evil will be wrought
This dark night it will decide
With one battle, one fight
To whom Maiden Fair will go
To Knight of Valor or Beast of Woe

To the fearsome castle gate of black
Rides the Knight in armor clad
In he enters castle of woe and doom
His purpose to enter highest room
But before he can get to his only love
He must see what his valor is made of
He must Evil Beast challenge and fight
And it must be done this night
For with this night has new moon come
And with it Maiden's fortnight is done
Haste  must he make to inner ward
Before Beast knocks at Maiden's door
For if Maiden consent give not to him
The light in her high room will dim
So forward charges the Brave Knight
For Maiden's honor he will fight
And so the challenge has been made
Evil Beast has gone into rage
Brace yourself the battle is nigh
This is the battle that will decide
Grasping sword and holding shield
Knight charges to the battle field
He fears neither pain nor death
He will fight till his last breath
Beast does fear but will not show
Breath of fire he fierecly throwss
On and on goes the fight
Not even moon will come to sight
Suddenly Knight to the ground doth fall
It seems the Beast has won after all
Has the rescue failed this day
Or could their be another way?
Look to the east, sun doth rise
Gone and done is the night
And Knight stand, taking a deep breath
This night he has won and coonquered death

Now Beast has fallen back in fear
He doth know his end is near
Raises Knight his sword on high
For he has the power of ligh
Down the sword crashes to the ground
Making loud and sudden sound
Evil Beast, you need no more fear him
For the ground has swallowed him in
No more will Maiden need fear for her life
Victory is with the Prince of Light
Now enters Knight tower of doom
And climbs to the highest room
Before Maiden he doth stand
And with a kiss he takes her hand
"Maiden Fair, for you I gave my life"
"Now I pray, will you be my wife?"
Maiden smile and answers with a bow
"To you alone will I take my vow"
"For it was you who rescued me"
"And to you true I will always be"
Takin her hand he leads her to the prison door
This castle need be her prison no more
And as they leave the horrid gate of black
With one glance she does look back
To her suprise where castle used to be
Lies a vast field of green
Knight smiles, "now that victory is won"
"Evil Beast and his castle are gone"
"You need never aain fear so"
"That to him you will one mroe go"
Then upon his horse he sets his bride
And together they will ride
Till they reach the Kingdom of his Father
Where he will bless them his Son and daughter
The night of bondage is gone and done
And freedom has come with the rising sun

Song of the Fairy

My sister had a picture of a fairy and she asked me to write a poem to match the picture here's what came out

Song of the Fairy
Hush and listen can you hear?
Come this way and lend your ear
Melody plays in the air
A song so sweet and sadly fair

A song of fairy with a lute
Accompanied by unseen flute
Sending to the air her sweet notes
That with the wind sadly float

A song of teardrop falling from her eye
Accompanied by silent sigh
She does weep of world so cruel
Were evil men do sit and rule

A world that has grown cold
A world that lusts for gold
A world deaf to babies cry
A world refusing to why

Hush and listen you have heard
Song sweeter than that of birds
Keep the song in your heart
And in the world change your part

But think not that the song is done
For the song is still being sung
Better go and call your friend
And tell him all that I have said

I do so Want to Live

I am very, very pro life, this was a poem that  I wrote to go along with an essay I had to write for my school, the poem came out a lot better than the essay, here it is

I Do So Want to Live
You never saw me, you know me not
And so I ask how can it be
Since you never saw, nor never sought
Why is it that you do not want me?

What did I do, what have I done
That made you to so cry and mourn
Tell me, why don’t you want me to come?
Why do you stop me from being born?

Why do you want my life to end
When it has only just begun?
Why back to Heaven do you wish to send
When from Heaven I have just come?

Perhaps you think you do not need me
Perhaps I have interfered with your life
Perhaps there is no father to be
He is not your husband or you his wife

Perhaps you feel you cannot afford
Perhaps you say your health won’t allow
But please I beg of your own accord
Do not end my life that has begun just now

Mother dear, if you don’t want me on this earth
If you wish to live a life all free
Then I beg, keep me till my birth
I’m sure you’ll find someone who wants me

Perhaps you would be truly glad
If circumstances would permit
But they do not, and you feel bad
So why not end the troubles real quick

But I beg of you, my dearest mother
Just wait till I have a little grown
Then I am sure you’ll find another
Who will take me for his own

Perhaps you are so confused
Right and wrong you do mix
Not sure you are what to do
And you wonder should you risk?

Wait till my birth and you may discover
That you truly, really want to keep me
You may find, you may uncover
That it was of me you always dreamed

Whatever the reason I do pray
And I do hope so too
That you will look to God this day
About the life he gave to you

Please mother dear, do not abort
The life that God to you did give
I beg my life do not cut short
I do so want to live

My Secret Garden

This is not made up, I really do have a secret garden and I wrote this poem about it :)

My Secret Garden
There is a place, a secret place
A mystic place, a magic place
Where I go to be alone
I found it on a walk one day
And claimed it as my own

A secret place, though many know of it
A mystic place, thought nothing new
A magic place, though oh so ordinary
And yet all three descriptions are true

The gateway to my secret place
Are two trees with branches intertwined
And as you walk and pass through them
A different world you will find

Yes a different world, a different land
Is my secret place, my garden fair
Believe it or not it is true
I should know, for I was there

The trees are small and evenly placed
All are birches save one pine
The grass is soft and oh so green
In this secret garden of mine

Always peace, always calm
It a place of quiet escape
Inside you find only hope and love
There is no room for fear and hate

Inhabitants? yes indeed!
But at first they will not show
Yet if kind and gentle you always are
They will accept you as their own

How do they look, That is hard to say
But if you will listen, I will explain

In the ground among the roots
Kind little people live safe and sound
And in the trees, among the leaves
Gentle fairies do abound

The ground people tend the grass
The fairies keep the trees so fair
What of the magic? oh you breath it
Magic is what makes the air

Of course my garden has a king
A great big golden butterfly
And with him rules his silver queen
And their palace is the pine

At first the people I did not see
Who in my secret garden abide
I was busy with all my problems
And of me they were oh so shy

But now what great friends we are
And I do love them so
And when the time to leave doth come
They ask me not to go

My secret garden, my secret world
Others too perhpas there go
Yet I think I alone do know
Of the magic that it holds

And if you think all I said to be untrue
My secret to you I will impart
If chance leads you to my secret garden
Close your eyes and look with your heart

Winter Lullaby

Here is another of my Narnia poems, think of a young mother rocking her little child to sleep while outside winter howls and blows

Winter Lullaby

The wind is howling all around
With it's thin and wailing sound
The snow is blowing in the night
Clothed in eerie, pale white

But you, my treasure, rest your head
As I gently rock your bed
You are safe from winter's charms
Here within my loving arms

The wind may howl, the snow may blow
Yet you needn't fear them so
Sleep, for you are safe inside
From winter's chill and icy pride

The wind may knock upon the window pane
But do not stir, for you are safe
Sleep and listen as I sing
Of the great lion, who is King

He is strong and very wise
With fierce, yet gentle, smiling eyes
He has a golden, flowing mane;
Aslan is his noble name

In Him is all the good and true
That the world had ever knew;
He is highest of all high kings
Son of the Emperor beyond the sea

He is the one who made our land
The forest green and desert sand
He gave the wind its changing song
And taught the birds to sing along

He is the one who gave you day
In which you love to dance and play
And the night is His gift too
Though it is little loved by you

For you, my heart, are still young
And only want to play and run
But you must stop and rest your head
And snuggle in your warm, soft bed

Let the wind howl and howl away
You cannot hear it anyway
For as I lean and kiss your cheek
I see you have drifted off to sleep

Sleep my treasure, my heart, my own
And let the wind aimlessly roam
Allow the snow to whip the ground
For you, my child, are safe and sound

I wish I was a bird

I Wish I was a Bird
Sometimes I wish I was a bird
And I was able to fly
Above all the absurd
Just soar into the sky

Not have a care in the world
Save what to eat and drink
Not worry for all the glitter and gold
And all that poison ink

I would need but a few seeds
And a drop of water
To fill my daily needs
Satisfy my thirst and hunger

And when I would grow weary
Of walking upon the dirt
I would leave the ground so dreay
And fly high above the earth

Fly all around the world
So many places seeing
Oh lovely little bird
Never wish you were a human being

Memoirs

Today's poem was insired by my love for Narnia. I am a great Narnia fan and a lot of my poetry is inpsiered and about Narnia. This poem is from the point of view of Susan, who has stopped believing in Narnia and did not go to Aslan's Country with the rest of her siblings. But now time has passed and she stops to wonder

Memoirs
The Autumn wind is blowing strong
The october leaves are falling down
And they join the multitudes
That are rotting on the ground

How like the leaves upon the dirt
Are my dreams from yesterday,
Today I've done a dangerous thing
And took a stroll down memory lane

I went back to a world I once knew,
Back to a life that was once mine,
Back to an innocence I once had,
Innocence that was bliss and kind

Back to the days when I was young,
Back when I had the faith of a child,
Back to when I was queen of Narnia,
And was known as gentle, meek and mild

It seems...it seems so long ago,
And indeed, perhaps it was,
Then I was different girl,
And the difference was because...

...was because...

Oh Aslan, tell me, was it because,
Because I had once believed in you?
Were You really always there,
And was Narnia really true?

I had come to think it folly,
I had come to think it child's play
So I threw it from my heart,
When perhaps, I should have let it stay

But now Time has blown away
The leaves and dreams of my youth,
And I wonder could it be,
That I had strayed from the truth?

But now the lane has ended,
And I come back to reality,
And to the life I am living,
And to the person that is me

Yet, a part of me is saying,
'Remember, remember the days of before
'And to look forward to a day,
When hearts will be mended and dreams restored'

(We will never know if Susan started to believe again, but I wanted to end this poem with a note of hope :) )

(a video I made to the song by Flyleaf "Missing" )
(p.s. no copy right infrigment intended, this is a fan video, I hold no right to the movies and the song, they belong to their respective owners, this video was made for intertainment only, just and only for fund :D )

Winter Days

Though I am no fan of winter, I have little love for the cold and don't really enjoy snow all that much, still, seeing as it is the official beginning of winter I should probably honor it.

Poem was written a few years ago

Winter Days
Winter days have finally come
Snow is on the ground
Autumn has come and gone
Ice and frost are all around

Days are getting shorter
The sun seems to set before its time
Nights are getting longer
The moon seems forever up in the sky

Christmas will come soon
Joy to the earth will come
Then by the light of the moon
The old year will be done

But winter on and on will go
Till March is nigh
And still we will have snow
Till spring comes with a sigh

Sunset

First post in my new blog :) to start with here's one of my personal favorite, I wrote it a while back. I have a special love for sunsets, something about them draws them to me, their beauty, their color, I love to sit and watch as God paints the sky :)

Sunset
The time of day I love the most
Is when the sun sinks in the sky
And just as it is about to go
It says one last goodbye

With a show of brilliant colors
To all the sun bids "Farewell
My time is done, the day is gone
Night must come and cast its spell

I have shone for you all day
And now I take my leave
A gift farewell I give to you
So through the night you remember me

I salute thee, oh white moon
Torch of the dark night
Who through the darkness, never failing
Shines to all your gentle light

Tomorrow I shall rise again
And greet thee with my rays
But now I sink below, below
And signal the end of day

Adieu, adieu, adieu to all
My time of day is done"
Having said, with colors such
Disappears the golden sun
