Sunday Stay

Sunday Stay!

Sunday, please don't end
Away with the sun don't run
I wish I could make you understand
How I don't want Monday to come

Oh how I wish you wouldn't leave

Can't you somehow just stay
Don't you have the power
To make Monday just keep away

Perhaps it's wrong for me to want this

Perhaps it's as silly as can be
But I can't help from wishing
That you would keep Monday away from me

Do you have the power to remain

And yet have time still move
Oh I know this doesn't make sense
But still, how I wish you could

September

Poem in honor of the first month of Autumn that started today :)

September

September, first month of autumn
Summer has come to a close
With a last look, a last breath
Away with the wind she goes

September, first month of Autumn
Leaves begin turning to gold
The wind so warm and gentle
Begins it's change to cruel and cold

September, first month of Autumn
There is still warmth in the air
Yet not long will it stay
This knowledge hangs in the air

September, first month of Autumn
A time when earth's color transforms
A time it tires from the green
And thinks that red is better worn

September, oh September
A month that hails colors
Bright sunsets, shorter days
Rain and lots of puddles

Rain in Spring

new Narnia poem I recently wrote

Rain in Spring
She is gentle still and calls to you
She is soft and warm as she caresses you
She falls in droplets from the sky
From the clouds that are on high

Drop by drop down she goes
Making music with soft sound
Rain in spring sent to melt to snow
That so long captive the ground

How strange it seems, so frail is she
Yet to her the snow must surrender
For he has no power or might
Against this warm and gentle weather

Drop by drop the spring rain falls
Bring freshness to the Narnian air
Making all around clean and calm
Making all around beautiful and fair

Spring has come to Narnia
Replacing snow with rain
And how the creatures do rejoice
That at last Spring came

Soon the flowers will bloom
And the dryads hair will fill with leaves
Soon the river will flow again
And the meadows will be green

Soft and gentle the rain falls
Delightful rain that hails spring
And with each drop we can watch
How winter surrenders and takes its leave

To the Martyrs

To the Martyrs
You stood so strong and brave
As you gazed into death's eyes
Though hell was opened to you
You were not afraid to die

You were not ashamed of Him
For whom you had been called to suffer
You counted it all joy
And you eternal honor

They had beaten, they had tortured
Still you stood strong and tall
You were willing to give your life
For the one who gave you His all

You had known the risk
When you accepted Him into your life
Because you had seen in Him
The way, the truth, the life

And so you stood, not afraid
While death taunted you
And all the crowds in the stand
Jeered and mocked at you

You lifted your eyes towards heaven
And hazed into the sky
And with a praise upon your lips
To you Saviour, you died

And when you passed through the gate
And gazed upon the Son
He opened up his arms to you and said
My faithful servant, well done

Some may think was it really worth
To die for one you'd never seen
But they could never understand
The faith you had inside of thee

Some may think you lost the battle
But in truth, you won the war
Death was not defeat, on no
Death was the final victory score

I wonder if I could ever be
As brave and strong as you
You have sent an example for me
How to my faith, I must be proud and true

The Sea at Night

One of my latest Narnia poems

A Night at Sea

I look up at the stars as they glow
High in the Narnian sky
I smile as I gaze at them
And from my lips escape a sigh

How glad I am that Aslan allowed
For me to Narnia return
I haved missed it ever so
My heart for it did yearn

We do not know where we are going
Yet we sail still
We must help King Caspian
His oath to Aslan fulfill

The sea at night it is a dream
A poem that words could never tell
The waters murmer with the wind
As if enchanted by a spell

The moon caresses the dark ripples
With a pale, frail light
It casts a shadow on the dark sea
A shadow that is pure white

The ship is rocked to and fro
Gently, lovingly rocked to sleep
By the music caused by the wind
And the lullaby sung by the sea

The stars in the sky speak to me
They tell me "child, run off to bed"
"The night has come for you to rest"
"You must go and lay your head"

The sea whispers "go child"
"And we will rock your cradle sweet"
"You will not even notice"
"How so swiftly you fall asleep"

The wind replies "to your bed"
"And I will sing a lullaby"
"About the wonders of the night"
"About the stars, the sea, the sky"

I must obey, I know I must
Yet it is so hard to leave
For the moon is telling me
"Child, must you really go to sleep"

But I know I must be off
For tomorrow holds advertures untold
So I bid goodnight to the moon
And my cabin I do go

I lay down and close my eyes
As I'm rocked by the waves
I can hear the wind sing to me
I have no reason to be afraid

Just before I drift to the land of dreams
I see Aslan stand by my side
I feel his warm breath as me bid good sleep
And I thank Him for the night

Happy New Year

I haven't posted here in a long while, it's been really hectic recently, but seeing as 2011 is over and 2012 has begun here is a poem to start the new year

As the old year passes away
And we stand at the doorstep of the new
I will say this small prayer
And wish a wish for you

May the sun brighten you path
May laughter fill your ears
May you find a comforting hand
That will dry any tears

May you alway have faith
Even if things may seem tough
And know that through all the tests
You will surely triumph

May you feel God's presence
Even when all seems lost
May you always find the strength
To fight and carry on

May God bless your new year
As it dawns clear and true
And may many blessing shower down
And your wishes be granted to you
